Thankfully, there's an easy way to keep these unwanted contacts from getting through to your phone. Here's how to block people on a Galaxy Note 8.

Block Calls:
    Open “Phone”
    Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    Tap “Block numbers”
    Follow one of the steps below:
        To block a new phone number: enter it and select the “default” match criteria
        To block a contact/phone number from the call logs or the phonebook: tap “Contacts” or “Recents” and select the phone number/contact you want to block
        To block unknown callers: enable the “Block unknown callers” toggle

Unblock Calls:
    Launch “Phone”
    Tap “Menu”
    Go to “Settings” > “Block numbers”
    Tap the “-“ button next to the phone number/contact you want to unblock

Block Messages from Settings:
    Launch “Messages”
    Tap “Menu”
    Go to “Settings” > “Block messages”
    Tap “Block numbers”
    Enter the phone number you want to block or tap “+” and select it from “Contacts” / “Inbox”
    Tap “Back” to confirm

Block Messages from a Phone Number:
    Open “Messages”
    Tap “Menu”
    Tap “Block numbers”
    Access “Message block” and set the slider “ON”
    Tap “OK” to confirm

Unblock Messages:
    Launch “Messages”
    Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    Access “Block messages”
    Tap “Block numbers” and tap the “-“ symbol associated with the phone number you want to unblock
    Tap “Back” to confirm

Clear the Call Log:
    Open “Phone”
    Access the “Recents” tab
    Tap “Menu” > “Delete”
    Select the call log entries you want to remove or tap “All”
    Tap “Delete” to confirm

Enable Call Forwarding:
    Open “Phone”
    Tap “Menu”
    Go to “Settings” > “More settings”
    Tap “Call forwarding” > “Always forward”
    Enter the phone number you want to use for call forwarding
    Tap “Turn ON”

Enable Conditional Call Forwarding:
    Launch “Phone”
    Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    Access “More settings”
    Tap “Call forwarding”
    Select to “Forward when unreachable”, “Forward when unanswered” or “Forward when busy”
    Enter the phone number you want to use for call forwarding
    Tap “Turn ON”

Disable Call Forwarding:
    Launch “Phone”
    Tap “Menu”
    Go to “Settings” > “More settings”
    Tap “Call forwarding”
    Select “Always forward” and tap “Turn OFF”
